Summary

In this chapter, we have described the Web subsystem configuration, which is now completely embedded into the JBoss AS configuration file. JBoss AS 7 uses a forked version of Tomcat Web server, which is still based around the concept of the connector as a Java object that provides an interface to Web server clients.

The Web server configuration is broken into:

  • static-resources configuration: This comes into play when JBoss AS is used to serve static resources, such as HTML pages and images
  • jsp-configuration: This is used to configure and fine-tune the dynamic pages creation

We have then gone through an example that showed off how to package and deploy a Java EE 6 Web module on the application server.
