Summary

In this chapter, we reviewed the various options that are available for effectively managing the presentation in portlets using technologies such as JSP, JSF, and so on. We also saw a few examples of each of these technologies. Each view technology needs its own set of deployment descriptors and executables. With the implementation of portal-JSF bridges and so on, the standalone applications can be now migrated easily to the portal environment.

To understand the concepts better, we also created a portal application from scratch, and added a custom portlet that we created with JSP-based views.
