Content management system security

The JBoss portal CMS is a combination of folders and files. All such assets can be effectively secured using a combination of users and roles. The permissions here relate to the content on the portal, such as folders and files managed by the CMS system, and are different from the ones that we saw for the portal assets earlier in this chapter.

The following features are supported by the security system of the portal CMS:

  • The permissions, 'Read', 'Write', and 'Manage' can be assigned at the CMS node level (Both Files and Folders are treated as CMS nodes)
  • The Permissions are propagated recursively down a folder hierarchy
  • Any Permissions specified explicitly on the CMS Node overrides the policy inherited via recursive ...
