Extensible Markup Language (XML) is the standard medium of data exchange on the Web. Examples of data exchange with XML are web feeds (RSS feeds and Atom feeds), and web services. Data exchanged using XML documents may be required to be stored in a relational database, or an XML document may require to be generated from a database table.
