In the previous chapter, we illustrated JIRA's flexibility by allowing you to add new custom fields to capture data, and creating new workflows to model business processes, but it does not stop there. Another powerful feature of JIRA is its built-in plugin system.

Generally, a plugin is a self-contained application with a .jar file extension that can be installed into JIRA to add new functionalities or enhance existing features.

  1. Log into JIRA as a JIRA Administrator.
  2. Click on Administration from the top menu bar.
  3. Click on Plugins from the left-hand panel. This will bring up the Current Plugins page.
