Overview
This chapter reviews basic concepts and terminology from research design and statistics. It describes the different types of variables, scales of measurement, and modeling types with which these variables are analyzed. The chapter reviews the differences between nonexperimental and experimental research and the differences between descriptive and inferential analyses. Finally, basic concepts in hypothesis testing are presented.
