Lesson 7Pulling It All Together: Income Tax Calculator

In this lesson, we pull together many of the concepts from the previous lessons. Instead of presenting new information on Go, we will walk you through a real-world application that uses what you've already learned. In this lesson, we will walk through the steps to create a calculator that determines a person's income tax based on their income.

IMPORTANT!

NOTE The information in this lesson is based on U.S. tax law for the year 2020. If you choose to update this calculator for a different year, you should find current values for the year you want to use. However, this specific calculator will work only for individuals with relatively simple income based only on wages and tips. A more advanced calculator would be needed for more complicated returns, including other forms of income and tax credits or deductions. Consult a tax expert or business analyst for more advanced tax return requirements.
