Adding media to your site

To create attractive and useable articles in Joomla!, you need to have an understanding of the various editor and media management options. Joomla! provides several article-editing tools to facilitate content creation. The system is bundled with a very good WYSIWYG editor, TinyMCE, but if you prefer to work without an editor, you can also create content directly in HTML with only a text editor interface.

In addition to the editing tools, Joomla! is also bundled with a Media Manager that enables you to easily add and manage the media files on your website directly from your browser. By using the editors in conjunction with the Media Manager, you can add images or other files to your articles quickly and easily, as I explain later in this chapter.
