Marking and assessment

MARKING and assessment systems are not only difficult to establish in journalism training – there are probably as many of them, both in style and method, as there are courses.

The following guidance is not intended to replace systems already in use but rather to give help with marking and assessment to those using the exercises in this book, whether they be tutors or students on courses, trainee journalists working in-house, or students with self-learning packs. The guidance is also offered as a supplement to the guidelines spelt out for instructors and assessors serving NYQ courses.
