How it works...

The JUNOS configuration commit process is already a complex and comprehensive process. When a user types commit, several activities go on under the hood to get the configuration where it should be. In normal operation, without commit scripts, the JUNOS validates the new candidate configuration file against a set of internal rules and then attempts to determine which parts of the configuration have changed. Based on the components that have changed, it signals the underlying daemons that may need to reload configuration.
