How it works...

The structure of the server application and its interaction with the network elements and client application is very similar to the previous recipe, Monitoring interface performance. The most significant difference is the implementation of a queue of XML messages in the collection server. This allows a single collection server to be used with a variety of web client applications, with the web client application focusing on a different aspect of the collected data, or perhaps presenting the data in a different way.
