Petronas is the national petroleum company of Malaysia, controlled by the state. It owns all the country’s oil and gas reserves and is responsible for generating an income from them. Petronas is among the world’s largest and most profitable companies, so, if it decides to build the tallest office tower in the world, there will be no problem about providing the resources to do so – and the achievement will be a matter of national pride.
