Overview of This Protest Ground: The Buy American Act (BAA) is a socioeconomic policy that was originally crafted during the Great Depression in an effort to save and create jobs for American workers. It sets out a statutory preference for domestic end products (supplies) and domestic construction materials for federal construction contracts.
