The Third Man Tripod
Oh, sure, it looks like a lightweight surveyor’s tripod, but it is so much more. In this section, I’m going to show you how to butch this baby up so you can throw a crane on it. (And if you’re never going to use a crane, this tripod is plenty heavy duty for DV camera work.)
I found this tripod at a big home center for about $80. It sure beats $500 for a “cinema” tripod, doesn’t it? In the next section we’ll be building a tripod spreader for this and any other cinema-style tripod.
