The drive toward diversity among our workforce continues, yet some still confuse diversity with affirmative action. It can be confusing. To many people, diversity represents forced integration, even in this day and age. The fact that our own local communities reflect a global sort of multiculturalism through immigration, education, and skilled competencies escapes many.
Affirmative action came into play as a tool to help people from cultures different from the current workplace majority break into areas of work and life where they had not been before.
