Finding New Runways for Growth
Steve Jobs is reported to have said, “If you define the problem correctly, you almost have the solution.” I might take issue with the “almost” part; in my experience, defining the problem accurately helps you to see the solution more clearly, but delivering on it is another matter. It’s also been my experience that the definition of a problem evolves with more knowledge. Sometimes, it is only in attempting to design a solution that you discover new dimensions of the problem. And too often, defining one problem leads you to see other distinct but related problems.
