Ways to Manage Knowledge
Technology is an enabler; thus, there are some wonderful examples of using technology to help people manage knowledge.
First, review the following solutions that use technology (or “techknowledgy”). For all of these solutions, it is essential for you to work with other departments in the organization. Depending on the knowledge management system you select, you may need help—from inside or outside the organization—to classify, codify, and organize knowledge to create a “knowledge base.” Also remember that too many knowledge management systems become “haunted houses”—which people never visit. All of the puzzle pieces described earlier need to be in place to support a good knowledge management system.
