How to do it...

To perform a live migration using the shared storage, perform the operations listed here:

  1. Ensure that the iSCSI KVM instance we built earlier is running on the source host:
root@kvm1:~# virsh list --all Id  Name        State---------------------------------------------------- 26  iscsi_kvm   runningroot@kvm1:~#
  1. Live migrate the instance to the second libvirt server (the target node should already have the iSCSI pool configured). If this operation errors out, please consult the There's more... section of this recipe for troubleshooting tips:
root@kvm1:~# virsh migrate --live iscsi_kvm qemu+ssh://kvm2/systemroot@kvm1:~#

 

  1. Ensure that the KVM instance has been stopped on the source host and started on the target server:
root@kvm1:~# ...
