10.5  AMPEROMETRY DETECTION

In amperometry detection methods, an electrochemical process, generally happening at a constant potential, is used to monitor the variation of current with time. In this case, current variation is not due to a variable applied potential, but to other causes, such as variation in time in the composition of the sample that flows through the detection room.

First, we will consider enzyme amperometry detection, perhaps the most diffused amperometry detection method, based on enzyme-driven RedOx reactions, and then we will analyze hydrodynamic amperometry detection, which is electrochemical detection systems operating out of a flowing sample.
