The Hispanic population in the United States topped 56 million in July 2015, making up nearly 18% of the United States population and representing the largest ethnic minority group in the country.1 An increasing number of this growing demographic are U.S. born,2 and roughly 60% are bilingual.3 And they are younger than their non-Hispanic counterparts. The median age for American Hispanics in 2014 was 28, lower than the median age of 43 for non-Hispanic whites and 33 for blacks.4 They differ from the general American media audience in how they consume media.
