Chapter Nine. Smart Layers
In previous versions of Photoshop (CS3 and CS4), Adobe started doing some really neat things with layers. They’re making them indestructible. This means that you can now do things to layers like transforming, resizing, warping, and replacing—non-destructively. This always gives you an out and always gives you a way back, in case something in your image changes as time goes on. In Photoshop CS5, you can even apply a filter to a layer and then go back to change the filter settings at any time.
