How Do I...

?CREATE A NEW LAYER?
Press Command-Shift-N (PC: Ctrl-Shift-N) or click on the Create a New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers panel.
?CREATE A NEW LAYER WITHOUT SEEING THE NEW LAYER DIALOG?
Press Command-Option-Shift-N (PC: Ctrl-Alt-Shift-N) or click on the Create a New Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers panel.
?RENAME A LAYER?
Double-click on the name of the layer in the Layers panel and type a new name.
?CONVERT A BACKGROUND LAYER TO A REGULAR LAYER?
