Chapter 4. Deploying Solaris OE LDAP Naming Services
In Chapter 2 “Assessing Your Needs for Naming Service Transition and Consolidation,” preliminary steps required when planning a transition to LDAP based naming services were discussed. Chapter 3 “Defining Directory Service Security Architecture” provided insight into how the directory server and Solaris OE authentication mechanisms worked and discussed how to extend PAM functions. In this chapter, the actual deployment steps are detailed for both server and client. This chapter provides both an examination of the components that make up the deployment, and step-by-step procedures for implementing them.
