What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom?

Most of us have a working definition. Knowledge is the accumulation of facts. Wisdom is what we do with them. It's an acquired ability to synthesize what we know and to distinguish its meaning and importance.

Studies on cognitive psychology and intelligence have unveiled the nature of wisdom and its core elements. Leaders are considered wise when they:

  • LEARN FROM EXPERIENCES
  • APPLY THE INTELLECTUAL CAPABILITIES NEEDED TO MAKE SOUND JUDGMENTS
  • EMBRACE VALUES THAT BENEFIT THEMSELVES AND OTHERS
