WHAT IS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE?
Definition: Emotional Intelligence is the capacity for recognizing our own feelings and those of others, for motivating ourselves, and for managing emotions in ourselves and in others.1
Daniel Goleman, in his first book on the subject, talks about the most essential of the emotions, “self-awareness—the ability to read your own emotions and gage your moods accurately, and know how they are affecting others.” Awareness is only part of the equation, however.
