A university’s strategic plan is a broad statement of what the institution wishes to be when it “grows up” and how it is going to get there. The academic organizational levels of a university are (1) the university; (2) the division of academic affairs (or academic and student affairs); (3) the colleges and schools; (4) the departments and programs; and (5) the faculty and staff.
