Chapter 2 Within You Without You
Humble leaders take their organizations to great heights. Studies show that humility fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and collective achievement in a team. You can become such a leader by using introspection (go “within you”) and letting go of your ego (go “without you”). As a modest leader, you don’t care about taking credit for an accomplishment. When you communicate, it is about “we” and “us,” and not “I” and “me.” You are not afraid of saying, “I don’t know.” For you, the team comes first. Humility stands on the pillars of self-awareness, gratitude, integrity, learning, and listening. You can develop it by consciously exercising all these attributes.
