Chapter 6 Think for Yourself
“Think for Yourself” reminds me that I must be an independent thinker to be an innovative and authentic leader. It is easy to accept what you read or hear from the past. You need to do substantial work to question the conventional wisdom. But the rewards are significant when you think for yourself. Learn to use the many mental models and apply them to suit the situation. Outstanding leaders are lateral thinkers, and they find connections and relationships not clear today. Reflect on what you read and observe, and connect the dots. Make time for thinking.
