Attribute‐driven theories include trait‐based leadership, strengths‐based leadership, and implicit leadership theory. As a cluster, these theories are decidedly focused on individuals rather than collectives and leader roles over leadership processes. Additionally, the span of time during which these theories emerged is vast, but even the oldest among them retain influence today—sometimes despite substantial research proving their inaccuracy.
