Live the Values You Want Others to Live By
People do as leaders do. Most of the people you lead will mimic your words, behaviors, and attitude. This is not flattery…it’s human nature. You do it too. There’s a good chance that you now mimic the words and actions of the people who have led you in the past. We learn through mimicry, and we are all mimics of each other. Right this very minute, human beings all over this great big world are mimicking the people who influenced them, while themselves influencing others who will come to mimic them someday. As a leader, you must be conscious of, and intentional with, the power your role modeling has in influencing the behavior of others.
