How do I turn win-lose situations into win-learn situations?
The ever-changing workplace has become the norm. The “domino effect” metaphor is no longer sufficient to explain how one change causes another, which then causes another, and so on. All too often it’s impossible to identify which change occurred first. The “ripple effect” has become a more useful metaphor to convey how a single change impacts everything in its immediate environment. Cause and effect is still a universal truth. But it seems that even the ripple effect is too one-dimensional to adequately capture the speed, complexity, and impact of change on the challenge of leading people and organizations in today’s world.
