The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is, in its own words, “the largest nonprofit in the world focused on accelerating a cure for each and every multiple myeloma patient.”1 Multiple myeloma (MM) is a cancer of blood plasma cells that build up in the bone marrow, crowding out healthy blood cells. The damage in the bone marrow may lead to anemia, bone damage, decreased ability to fight infection, and damage to the kidneys and other internal organs. It is a deadly disease.
