Love
It was February. Freezing. A driving rain beat against his windshield. The forecast promised snow in the mountains. He liked driving in snow. It softened things. Nothing to interrupt his solitude. A chance to think.
He thought about love. What made that word so powerful? He could talk about love with Gwen. Sometimes with his children. Never at work. Who talks about love in a corporation? You talk about it at weddings. Six months until the wedding. Gwen had finally said yes. Maybe the only love he felt sure about.
