CHAPTER 11When the Scorecard Turns Red (or Too Green)
Gabby can be so annoying! Once she gets it into her “head” where we should be going, if we deviate just a bit—say, to fill the tank up with gas or to get an ice cream cone—she blares out, “Recalculating! Recalculating!” Despite the nagging, however, we’re glad that Gabby keeps us on the straight and narrow. We rarely get lost anymore, thanks to her audible and visual guidance.
Leadership GPS also guides us to keep us on the “straight and narrow” of achieving our goals. Although we don’t get an audible signal when we’re off track, the Business Scorecard “loudly” tells us where we stand. With a quick glance, we know if we are winning (green) or losing (red).
