We have emphasized that tools alone do not make great product or process development. Tools do not innovate. Yet tools can be a key enabler. When we think of engineering tools, we often think of sophisticated computer technology for visualization and analysis like solid modeling, rapid prototyping, virtual caves to view the product in 3D, product life cycle management, and the list goes on.
