Step 1 of our BASICS® Leadership Development Path was to “Baseline,” which we covered in team member Self Reliance. Step 2 was to “Analyze” and “Suggest Solutions,” which we did by studying how to improve business practices and suggest solutions. In Step 3, we took what we learned from Steps 1 and 2 and then we “Implemented” by practicing what we learned. We then “Checked” to make sure we solved the root cause and learned how to share with others. Step 4 was “Sustain” (see Figure 15.1), whereby we combined the BASICS® Lean tools and human aspect to achieve daily business improvement with a focus on execution by Learning to Teach others, which allows the improvements to sustain ...
