A new media world
To understand the impetus for creating a new framework for media, it helps to understand the conflagration that has engulfed the media industry in recent decades. At the beginning of this book, I described my experience navigating the tumultuous media landscape of the 1990s and 2000s. Disruptive change started much earlier, beginning with the introduction of relatively inexpensive computers and software tools in the 1970s and early 1980s.
