A calculation formula is an equation made up of one or more text statements expressing operation(s) that will be performed to manipulate values and arrive at a result. Relationships add to the basic data framework by allowing for the interconnection of tables and fields. Formulas unlock another level by allowing the manipulation of the information stored within that structure.
