A script connected to a button or menu requires a user to perform a manual action to initiate the process. While this is fine for tasks that are optional or require a conscious choice, critical business functions can be forgotten. In some cases, it may be inefficient and non-intuitive to require a user to perform extra clicks to initiate mandatory actions in the interface.
