Creating New Layouts with the Layout Assistant

Introduction

Layout mode operates like a simplified version of most computer drawing programs (like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW). But what sets FileMaker apart is that it’s designed to also show data from the fields in the records of your database tables. You can create all sorts of layouts for use on screen or in printed reports. Remember though, no matter what beautiful or ugly way your layouts present your data, you aren’t actually changing what’s in the tables themselves (you can only do that in Browse mode).
