In order to get a true appreciation for any technology, I personally feel that it is important to understand where a certain technology originated and how it evolved over time.
In 2016, Microsoft unveiled a public preview of Visual Studio Mobile Center as a “mission control” service for mobile apps. In the last few months of 2017, Microsoft rebranded the product offering because it is not just about mobile. It is more about apps on all platforms and form factors, including iOS, Android, macOS, and Windows. Today, it is called Visual Studio App Center.
