Surveying the Landscape

Although the majority of this book focuses on getting you comfortable on the command line and really getting your hands dirty with Linux, we would be completely amiss if we didn’t first show you how to use the graphical interface that comes with your Pi. It’s not quite as flashy as what you might find on a PC or a Mac, but it’s fast, easy to use and will let you do all the things you’re used to doing. And of course, it’s all on a device that fits in your pocket and draws less power than the monitor or TV it’s connected to.
