6.2. Supporting common web applications
There are so many different types of web applications and so many different requirements, it’s hard to keep up on the latest and greatest information. Fortunately for you Microsoft has simplified the complexity for both developers and admins.
IIS contains many of the platform components (additional services) to support both old and new web applications, as shown in figure 6.6. These components support many of the web applications you may need to run, though not all of them.
