Automating the business process using workflows
Workflow is a strong feature of the Force.com platform because it is used to automate business processes. This is the business logic engine of the Force.com platform that allows us to automate ending e-mail alerts, assigning tasks, updating a field value based on the defined rules. Workflows are associated with the particular objects. When the associated object's record is inserted or updated, and meets the conditions of the workflow rule, the platform automatically executes the actions defined in the rule.
