Especially in mobile forensics, where information visible may be more volatile, but also in classical computer forensics, sometimes there may be the urgency to acquire the data available. Information may vanish before being able to isolate or properly handle the device. In such cases, effective on-scene triage processes and tools may preserve evidence that would otherwise be lost.
