Report subscription and delivery

You make a delivery request by creating a subscription. The delivery takes place at a certain time (by an event or a timer) in a format (Word, PDF, Excel, and so on.) in which you have requested a delivery. The delivery may reach the recipient in a number of ways. Some of these have already been discussed in Chapter 3, Overview of SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 Architecture, Features, and Tools. Subscriptions are created so that the reports are sent to the destination e-mail or to a shared folder. It is important to note that subscription is not available for all versions of SQL Server 2012. The version used for this book, the Enterprise Edition does support subscriptions.
