Report Server Web Services API

Objects on the Report Server are managed (with the Report Server Web Service) using what are called Management Endpoints (basically URLs). In SQL Server 2012, there are three important management endpoints. Review http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms155398.aspx.

  • ReportServer2005 (for Native mode)
  • ReportServer2006 (for SharePoint Integrated mode)
  • ReportServer2010 (for both the modes, including both 2005 and 2006)

In Windows or Web applications, we interact with the endpoints via Web proxies. In addition to the management endpoint, there is also the ReportExecution2005 endpoint for processing and rendering reports; review http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms154052.aspx.
