Chapter 5. Basic Functionality

Let’s take a closer look at the functions we mentioned earlier: namely append, cut, copy, and paste. You must be familiar with the latter as any editing package, text or image, provides them:

  • Copy, as the name suggests will copy the selected data onto the clipboard.
  • Cut works just like Copy, but it will delete the data from its original place.
  • Paste will place any data that exists in the clipboard at the specified position.

They are very useful functions that allow quick editing, especially if you use the keyboard shortcuts: Ctrl+X for Cut, Ctrl+C for Copy, and Ctrl+V for Paste.
