Postscript: Timing is Everything

In the spring of 1995, a couple of years into his presidency, I arranged an interview with President Clinton at the White House. I have a photograph of that meeting on my desk as I write. The picture reminds me how an adept leader will fit the stories he or she tells to capture whatever is necessary for the spirit of the times, and change that story when necessary.
