Web 3.0, or as some refer to it—the Semantic Web, represents the third generation of the World Wide Web built on blockchain technology—that decentralized system of public blockchains where information is stored on an immutable public ledger. There are no barriers and no centralized third parties deciding who gets access to platforms. Rather, websites will be permissionless. They will be controlled from the bottom up instead of the top down. Community users will set the rules, not CEOs and boards of directors.
